Harry Potter and the Blizzard of 2010

On Tuesday, November 23rd, the weather forecast called for one of the biggest storms in recent years.  I received emails from my director and human resource department recommending that we close the office early so that everyone could be home before the storm hit.  I decided to close my office at 2:00.  This worked out great for me because I was planning on leaving work early to go see Harry Potter anyway.  Despite the warnings to stay home, we decided to go to the movie anyway.  The storm was supposed to hit around 4:00 on the movie started at 4:20.  We took the Tahoe, just to be safe.  We headed to the Megaplex in Ogden and on our way there were very dark clouds coming from the North.  We parked in a parking garage, so we didn't have to worry about the Tahoe, but we were curious to see what would happen while we were in the show.

We saw Harry Potter in our favorite theater (Theater 4).  I've learned that movies are never as good as the books, so I went in with low expectations.  Although the movie was a lot darker than the others, I still enjoyed it very much.  Unfortunately, Maddy and I missed the ending because we had to go to the bathroom.  We didn't realize it was almost over.  Oh well.  There's always the DVD.  I can't wait for the next movie!

After the movie, we went outside and were very disappointed in the "blizzard".  There were a couple of inches on the ground, but it wasn't bad.  The roads were empty because everyone had stayed home so we didn't have a problem on the roads.  Our main problem was trying to find somewhere to eat because even all of the fast food restaurants had closed.  We stopped at the Wendy's on Riverdale Road before driving home.  Apparently, there were some areas along the Wasatch Front that were hit pretty hard, but I sure didn't see them.  I guess I'll have to wait for the Blizzard of 2011!
