Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day this year. It all started on Friday the 13th when the kids had their class parties and handed out their valentines. I was in charge of Keegan's class party and
we played bingo and ate doughnuts. We only had time for about 10 rounds and Keegan won twice! It was pretty exciting. Maddy's class also played bingo and had cookies and pop. They both had fun!

On Valentine's Day, I was surprised by a dozen roses and some chocolates on the table. Then we ate pink/red pancakes for breakfast. It was snowing, so Keegan and Bart worked on our sled hill while they were shoveling the drive way and then the kids played in the snow for a while. Every year we have a treasure hunt with clues to hunt down their valentine gift from us, so while they were out playing I hid the clues and their prizes. Normally they have to do the treasure hunt together, but this year I gave them each their own set of clues and they were running all over the house to find them. It was fun. They usually get a mindy mint heart with their name on it, but Maddy decided she would rather have a white chocolate heart that she saw at walmart. I couldn't believe it. She got that heart as well as a bag of Dove milk chocolate hearts. Keegan was smart and stayed with the mindy mint heart and he also got a big Hershey's Kiss.

We went as a family to the Olive Garden for lunch. It was delicious and the fastest service I've ever had there. Then Bart and I dropped off the kids at Rick and Myrna's and went to see the movie Taken and then we had dinner at Costa Vida. It was a nice date. When we went to pick the kids up, they were watching Madagascar 2 so we stayed and watched the rest of it with them. Then we went home and the kids got in bed and Bart and I watched Dan in Real Life. I actually stayed awake for the whole thing! It was a miracle. I really liked all of the movies we saw that day. It was a wonderful day!
