October 2010

October was a busy month. We had “Conference Brunch” at the Julien’s which is always a good time. We had a Bruce birthday party at the Ogden Pizzeria for Kade and Paula’s October birthdays. I had a Girl’s Night out with some of my friends from work. We went to Iggy’s in Ogden and saw Life As We Know It at the Megaplex. I also started choir practice for my Christmas program in October.

On October 11, my new Mental Health Clinic opened without any furniture. Well, we had desks and chairs, but all of the waiting room furniture and the couches for the offices were delayed a couple of weeks. Luckily, Staples Business Interiors loaned us some furniture until ours came in. It is my favorite office so far. The finishes turned out amazing! I also love the artwork. I decided I wanted to go with a Utah photography theme. My marketing director gave me an idea to check with the department of tourism and in my online search, I found out that there is a store across from the Capitol that sells posters for $5.00 each. I had to frame them, but they turned out great!

Over UEA we took a trip to Arizona.

We also went to the Annual Syracuse Pumpkin Walk. If you don’t get there early, it can take a couple of hours, but we went on the first night and actually went through before it had officially opened, so it wasn’t bad this year. After the pumpkin walk, we went to Carl’s Jr. for dinner.

Maddy participated in her first school Science Fair.  We decided to test if music affected how fast you type.  We chose 4 songs of different speeds and genres and had 6 different people do a typing test for each of them.  Thanks to our family members for helping out with this!  We were surprised that people actually typed fastest to the slower music.

The month ended with a great Halloween!
