On September 16th, Maddy turned 11! Her birthday "week" started Wednesday when she spent the day with grandma Bruce who took her to Rainbow Gardens and the Dinosaur park with her cousins Jaxson and Cooper (and Paula). Then she went to play practice and Activity Days where she got a birthday treat. After dinner, we met grandpa Julien at the mall to go shopping for clothes! She tried on some cute things at Macy's and then we went to Justice. She got two pairs of jeans, two hoodies, three shirts and two camis. When we were done shopping, she said "I am officially spoiled!" While we were at the mall we also stopped by the Simply Mac store to play with the iPads and then we stopped at Mrs. Cavanaugh's and bought mini jawbreakers.
On Thursday, she woke up extra early so that we could open presents before Keegan left for school. She got two DS games, more clothes ( including a cute gymnast sweatsuit with headbands), a Webkinz Strawberry Cloud Leopard, a scripture tote, and a Mazin Hamster (with two coupons for a treat and "one free whatever you want me to do") from Keegan. Then I made waffles for breakfast. Then Keegan went to school and I went to work. Bart took the day off so he could be home with Maddy.
That night, we went to dinner at Garcia's and Maddy got to wear a big Mexican hat! After dinner, we had a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake for dessert.
On Friday night, Maddy had her friend party. The girls decorated a goody bag, opened presents, had cupcakes and played Minute to Win It.
On Sunday, we had a family party for Maddy. We had chocolate fondue with all sorts of "dippers" - strawberries, cream puffs, marshmallows, angel food cake, pretzel sticks and more. She got more wonderful gifts! What a great birthday week!
